UNIGIS Logo The course is being offered by the Institute in association with Centre for Geoinformatics (Z_GIS), University of Salzburg and UNIGIS International in full-time mode. There are two batches for the programme. One is the day batch, for the regular students and other is the evening batch, especially designed for the working professionals.

Course & Certification

The course curriculum conforms to the UNIGIS distance learning programme of the University of Salzburg, Austria and is being offered in full time mode by the GIS Institute at NOIDA. The learning outcomes og the course participants is evaluated by the Centre for Geoinformatics (Z_GIS) and the professional diploma is awarded by the , University of Salzburg, Austria.

Programme Structure

The overall course structure has been designed by UNIGIS and some modifications to the same have been done, keeping in mind the local requirements. The program comprises of 10 modules, 7 compulsory and 3 optional (1 Module = 6 ECTS), which are spread over eight months. Apart from the core GIScience modules , students are also given hands-on training various GIS and CAD software. To get an edge over students from other institutes, they are given an access to number of basic and advanced ESRI Virtual Campus courses. After the completion of eight months of rigorous training, students are exposed for four months on live projects with the Industry or with the Institute. Working on these projects gives an opportunity for them to understand the intricacies so that the students are ready to perform from day one of his/her placement in the company.
